Overview

A small guitar with room to explore. Our new 13-fret TS gives you more access higher up the neck than a traditional 12-fret design, while keeping the comfortable balance of our smallest body.

The TS is a guitar to settle down with. Comfortable to hold and responsive to a light touch, it rewards the little changes in your playing like the emphasis on a melody note, a gently picked chord, the space you leave between.

For this run of limited edition Select Series, we’ve paired beautiful Indian Rosewood back and sides with a Swiss Moon Spruce soundboard. Each of the five guitars is individually built, voiced and finished to the same standards as our bespoke instruments.

A comfortable fit

Often called our parlour, the TS is similar in size to a 00, with a tighter waist and very slightly narrower shoulders. Its compact proportions bring the instrument comfortably close, making it a lovely companion for fingerstyle playing, songwriting or an evening spent revisiting favourite tunes.

If you enjoy a smaller guitar and like to hear it respond without having to play hard, the TS is well worth considering.

Why a 13-fret join?

We wanted a little more access higher up the neck than a traditional 12-fret design allows, while preserving the balance that makes a small guitar so enjoyable to hold.

The 13-fret join gives you that extra room around the octave and beyond. It also keeps the neck and headstock closer to the body than an equivalent 14-fret design, helping the guitar sit comfortably in your lap.

The 13-fret join also keeps the bridge closer to the soundboard’s sweet spot. It gives us the bridge position we want, a comfortable balance in the lap and a little more room to play higher up the neck.

Please note: As with all Turnstones, each guitar is made by hand using natural materials such as solid timber and cattle bone. This means the instrument you receive may show some variations in grain or colour compared to these photos, unique hallmarks of craftsmanship and part of what makes every Turnstone one of a kind.
